Setting up your costs Answer 6 of 46 Updated

What does the Per unit ring in a product's panel show?

It splits the price of one piece into the parts it goes to. You find it at the bottom of a product's panel, under Per unit. The parts are Price reduction, VAT, Unit cost and Margin. The centre of the ring shows the Margin per unit.

The whole ring is the GMV basis, shown at the top right. That is the compare-at price if the product has one, or else the sales price. Price reduction only shows when there is a compare-at price. VAT is left out when your shop's prices exclude tax.

An example: a compare-at price of €80,00, and a sales price of €59,50 with 19,0% VAT inside. The ring shows €20,50 of price reduction, €9,50 of VAT, a €30,00 unit cost and €20,00 of margin. Point at a part to see its amount and its share of the €80,00.

The line under the ring sums it up, like 40,0% margin on the €50,00 net price. The net price is the price without VAT. If the cost is above the net price, the line says the piece sells at a loss. Without a unit cost, it asks you to add one. Before your store's first sale, it says the VAT is known after your first sale.

The ring follows what you type, before you save. So you can see at once what a new supplier price does to your margin.
