What nouz is
nouz is a profit tracker for Shopify stores: a daily 34-line P&L with CM1, CM2 and CM3 contribution margins after every cost, flat pricing.
nouz reads your Shopify orders, refunds, products, payments and stock, and your ad spend from Meta, Google and TikTok.
You enter your costs once: product costs, shipping, payment fees and overhead, each from the day it applies.
Every day becomes a profit and loss statement of 34 lines, from gross merchandise value down to EBITDA, after every cost.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
Who it is for
- Shopify stores from their first sales up to around €10M a year in revenue that want to know what they keep after every cost, not just what they sold.
- Stores selling in Europe first: VAT is handled per line, amounts read €1.234,56 and packaging EPR fees are priced per destination. Check: nouz for EU stores
- Owners working alone and whole teams: Base includes one team member, Pro up to 5 team members and Scale unlimited team members.
Who it is not for
- Sellers who want Amazon, WooCommerce or other platforms in one dashboard beside Shopify: nouz reads Shopify only, though orders a marketplace connector writes into Shopify are included.
- Teams who want ad attribution per channel or per ad: nouz measures marketing blended, on purpose. Check: How the numbers are computed
- Anyone who needs a mobile app: nouz runs in the browser.
- Bookkeeping and tax filing: nouz does not keep the books or file VAT returns. Check: A profit tracker and accounting software
- Adding up stores that trade in different currencies: a combined view adds up stores that share a currency, and only those.
What it does
Every feature is on every plan; the plans differ in orders, stores, team members and support.
The P&L
- A daily profit and loss statement of 34 lines, from gross merchandise value (GMV) down to EBITDA, each line computed by a written rule. Check: How the numbers are computed
- Three contribution margins: CM1 after product costs, CM2 after shipping and payment fees, CM3 after advertising, then EBITDA after overhead. Check: CM1, CM2 and CM3 explained
- Margin targets per store: two limits for each margin, and every period on the P&L marks CM1 %, CM2 %, CM3 % and EBITDA % green, orange or red.
- Any day, week, month, year or custom range, compared with the period before.
- Lines that open into their parts: discount codes, returns, net orders by new and returning customers, logistics, fees per payment method, ad spend per platform and overhead. Check: Expanding a line
- Revenue lines include VAT down to Taxes; Net Revenue and every line below it exclude VAT. Check: How VAT is handled
- Refunds are booked on the day they are issued, never back on the original order. Check: Which day a refund belongs to
Costs
- Product costs per variant, each from the day it applies, so a closed day keeps the cost that was true on it. Check: Effective dating
- Logistics in five parts: shipping rate cards by zone and by weight or parcel size, pick and pack, packaging, return processing and packaging EPR fees per destination. Check: Shipping zones
- Payment fees per payment method, and on Shopify Payments the fee Shopify reports on each payment. Check: Payment fee rules
- Running costs, monthly or yearly, spread across every day they cover, and one-off costs on the day they are booked, plus marketing spend entered by hand or imported from a CSV. Check: Manual and CSV ad spend
- A missing cost is flagged, never quietly counted as zero. Check: Data health flags
Store data
- The first sync imports every order the store has ever taken. Check: What arrives in the first sync
- Sync now at any time, plus an automatic sync every night. Check: When nouz syncs
- Orders Shopify stored in another currency are converted into the store currency at the latest ECB reference rate before the order's own day. Check: nouz for EU stores
- Read-only access to the store: nouz adds nothing to the storefront, the theme or the checkout. Check: What nouz can change
Insights and planning
- Eleven Insights tabs: Revenue, Products, Inventory, Marketing, Returns, Customers, LTV, COGS, Logistics, Transaction fees and Overhead. Check: The Insights tabs
- Profit per product from CM1 down to EBITDA, each cost split by what drives it, with a breakeven ROAS and a breakeven CAC for every product. Check: Product profitability
- Customer lifetime value by first-order cohort, in revenue and in contribution terms.
- An inventory report with stock, its value at cost, sales velocity and days of stock.
- A forecast of where this month lands, up to twelve months ahead, this one included, from the store's own orders, with What if scenarios, goals, planned events, a purchase plan and a cash plan. Check: The Forecast
Reports and exports
- A daily profit email after the nightly sync, at the hour you choose: yesterday's net revenue and EBITDA, then a thirteen-line margin waterfall. Weekly and monthly summaries and alerts, the forecast's among them, come with it. Check: The daily email
- Custom reports: the P&L lines you pick, on your schedule, to up to 10 recipients who need no login.
- Every report and table as CSV or Excel, the raw data also as JSON, and a full account export at any time. Check: Exporting your data
Stores and team
- Several stores on one account: up to 5 stores on Pro and up to 10 stores on Scale, each with its own costs, rules and P&L.
- A combined view that adds up stores sharing a currency on the Overview, the P&L and Inventory. Check: Connecting a second store
- Owner, Admin and Analyst roles on Pro and Scale. Check: Team roles
