Setting up your costs Answer 8 of 46 Updated

What are Default lead time and Reorder lead time on the Products page?

A lead time is how many days a reorder takes to arrive, from placing the order to having it on the shelf. The Default lead time is your store's own. It sits at the right end of the search bar on the Products page. Every store starts with 30 days.

To change the default, type a number of days and press Enter, or click somewhere else. Press Esc to undo before it saves. It takes whole days from 0 to 365. Every product without a lead time of its own uses it.

A product can have its own Reorder lead time, for a supplier that is slower or faster. Open the product's panel, type the days and press Save lead time. It covers every variant of the product, since they come from the same supplier. It takes whole days from 1 to 365. Empty the field to hand the product back to the default.

A lead time changes no number on your P&L. Insights uses it on the Inventory tab to date each product's Order by day. That is the last day to reorder, so new stock arrives before the old runs out. Only an owner or admin can change lead times.
