Billing and plans Answer 9 of 15 Updated
What happens if a payment fails?
If Shopify bills you, your plan is part of your Shopify bill. So Shopify handles a failed payment the same way as the rest of that bill. If Shopify puts the plan on hold because the bill is unpaid, it starts again once the bill is paid. Your data stays exactly as you left it.
If nouz bills you directly, Stripe tries the payment again over the next days, and emails you each time. Your account keeps working during those tries. Locking you out over one bounced card would turn a small problem into a lost account. Settings, Billing then shows Past due, and the day until which Stripe keeps trying.
If every try fails, the subscription ends. Access then narrows to Settings and Support. A working card pays the open invoice and brings everything back.
