How do I enter packaging costs?
Add a rule on the Logistics page and choose Packaging material. Type the Amount per parcel: what one box, its tape and its filler cost you. It is charged once for every parcel, even one picked up in store.
Under What the packaging is made of, add each material with its weight in grams. Weigh one empty parcel: the box, the tape, the filler and the labels. These weights are what your EPR fees rule charges per country.
If small and large orders ship in different boxes, click Ship in different boxes by size. You then list Boxes, smallest first. Each box has a name, how many sizes it holds, a price and its own materials. The last box takes anything larger, so every parcel fits somewhere. Use one box for everything goes back to a single price.
An order's packaging sizes are added up, and it ships in the first box that is big enough. An example: a T-shirt is size 1 and socks are 0,5. Two T-shirts and one pair of socks make 2,5, so the order takes the first box that holds 2,5 or more. Set each product's size on the Products page.
Box sizes are a big lever on cost, as box size economics shows. To work out a price per parcel first, try the packaging cost calculator.
