nouz is the Klar alternative for Shopify stores that want their real profit every day from the first sale: a 34-line P&L after every cost, on plans billed through Shopify that never take a share of revenue. Klar Insights, the Munich analytics platform, starts at €200 a month on net revenue and adds attribution and marketing mix modelling.
Klar Insights is the Munich company behind Klar, an ecommerce analytics and attribution platform whose Shopify app, Klar Analytics, sets out to bring marketing, margins and retention into one place, with multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modelling and creative analysis on top of a contribution margin statement. Its pricing starts at €200 a month and follows the last twelve months of net revenue, and Klar's own pricing page says when it fits: a brand with at least €1M a year in net revenue, or one scaling fast. The Shopify stores that look for a Klar alternative are usually earlier than that, do not need attribution, or want a bill that does not move with their revenue.
nouz is one of the tools compared here; competitor prices were read on 21 Oct 2026.
In short
- nouz shows your real profit every day, after products, shipping, fees, ads and overhead: a 34-line P&L from GMV (gross merchandise value) to EBITDA, with CM1, CM2 and CM3 between them, every cost type dated, and plans that never take a share of revenue: Base $55, Pro $115 and Scale $289 a month (about €49, €99 and €249).
- Klar's two plans, checked 21 Oct 2026: Core from €200 a month and Core + Attribution from €400, each priced on the last twelve months of net revenue and adjusted every three months, with unlimited users, no long-term contract and no setup fee.
- Both state a contribution margin waterfall from GMV down to EBITDA. Klar builds attribution and measurement on top of it; nouz builds a cost engine underneath it.
- Choose nouz from the first sale onwards, and for costs that need every date and every parcel; choose Klar past €1M in net revenue when attribution, marketing mix modelling and incrementality are what you are buying.
What is Klar?
Klar is made by Klar Insights GmbH in Munich, and Klar Analytics has been on the Shopify App Store since December 2023. It describes itself as attribution and insights software for ecommerce. The listing names its parts: multi-touch attribution, a unified measurement layer that includes a marketing mix model, real-time profitability, creative analysis, retention cohorts, influencer performance and industry benchmarks, with data hosted in the EU, GDPR compliance and ISO 27001 certification. It connects Meta, Google Ads, Google Analytics, TikTok and Klaviyo, and its homepage says it integrates with any ecommerce platform, natively or through its open API.
Its profitability report is a contribution margin statement close to the one this site describes. Klar's help centre defines it from GMV through price reductions, discount codes, shipping revenue, returns and taxes to net revenue, then CM1 after the cost of goods, CM2 after logistics and payment costs, CM3 after marketing and EBITDA after overhead, and says plainly that the report does not replace the accounting P&L and aims for 98% accuracy. Cost of goods comes from Shopify's cost per item, from a Google Sheet per SKU that takes date ranges, or as a percentage of the net price; logistics costs are set as variable and fixed amounts per region.

Klar makes sense once your brand does at least €1M in annual net revenue Klar, the FAQ on its pricing page, checked 21 Oct 2026
That sentence is the clearest guide to the decision, and it is fair to take it at its word. A pricing model that follows revenue is built for brands whose revenue can carry it, and a platform built around attribution is worth most where the ad budget is large enough for attribution to move it. Klar's pricing page publishes the starting prices and the method rather than every band, so the figure for a given store comes from its own calculator or a quote. nouz is priced the other way round: Base covers one store and up to 500 orders a month, Pro and Scale have no order limit, and no plan takes a share of revenue or charges per order, so the bill follows the plan, never the store's revenue.
What are the best Klar alternatives for Shopify?
It depends on which half of Klar you came for. For the profit half, the daily contribution margin statement after every cost, nouz, built for Shopify stores selling in Europe first; nouz for EU stores sets out the VAT, number format and packaging rules it is built around. For the attribution half, the platforms that sell measurement: Polar Analytics, priced on annual GMV by demo, from $510 a month in its first band on Polar's pricing page, and Triple Whale, free to start and then $219 or $749 a month on Triple Whale's App Store listing. For a lower bill with the profit basics, the order-priced trackers compared in the best Shopify profit tracking apps.

Where is Klar the better choice?
Choose Klar when measurement is the product you are buying. Multi-touch attribution with first-party tracking, a marketing mix model, incrementality tests, creative analysis and influencer reporting are a different discipline from a profit statement, and Klar puts them on the same data as its margins. Brands past €1M in net revenue with a large and spread ad budget get the most from that, and so do teams where many people need access, since every Klar plan has unlimited users. And for a brand that sells on more than one ecommerce platform, Klar's open API reaches where a Shopify-only tool does not.
Where does nouz go deeper?
In the costs, which decide what the margins mean. Every cost type in nouz is effective-dated and entered in the app: each variant's unit cost, the shipping rate card, pick and pack, packaging, return processing, the payment fee rules and overhead. A new cost closes the old one the day before it takes effect, an order is priced by the rule valid on its own day, and a cost entered late re-prices only from its own date. Shipping is priced per parcel, by weight or by parcel size, in zones you define, with one catch-all zone so no destination is ever unpriced; a split shipment pays two labels; return processing lands on the day of the refund; and packaging EPR fees are charged per destination country and material. On Shopify Payments the fee is the one Shopify reports on each payment, and a missing cost is flagged rather than counted as zero.
In the recognition rules, written one per line. A refund is booked on the day it is issued, never back on the original order, so a closed month stays closed. VAT sits on its own line between Gross Revenue and Net Revenue. Selling a gift card is never revenue, because gift cards are not revenue until they are spent, and then they are a payment; Klar's documentation describes a setting for when gift card revenue counts. An order Shopify stored in another currency is converted with the figures Shopify's own reports use, or at the ECB (European Central Bank) reference rate where those cannot be read, and stores are added up only when they share a currency.
And around the statement: a Forecast page that projects where this month lands, up to twelve months ahead, this one included, with What if scenarios, goals and planned events; a daily profit email after the nightly sync with yesterday's net revenue and EBITDA; Insights that run every product down to EBITDA with a breakeven ROAS and CAC; lifetime value by cohort with LTV:CAC in revenue and contribution terms; and a reorder planner that counts the stock already on its way. Marketing is measured blended, as MER, revenue per ad euro, as POAS, profit on ad spend, and as CAC, the cost of winning a customer, and nouz reads the store with read-only access, adding nothing to the storefront, the theme or the checkout. Pro covers up to 5 stores and Scale up to 10 stores. Each of these claims about nouz is listed, with where to check it, on the nouz facts page.
What does switching from Klar to nouz take?
Less than it sounds, because the orders live in Shopify. Install nouz from the Shopify App Store, and the first sync brings back the store's entire order history; connect Meta, Google and TikTok, and enter your costs. If your cost of goods sits in a sheet with date ranges, each range becomes a cost with its own effective date, which is the same discipline set out in switching without losing your cost history. Then run both tools on the same store for a week and compare one finished day: net revenue, CM2 and where last month's refunds landed. A difference there is always one rule applied two ways, and finding it tells you more about your own margins than either tool's dashboard.
Stores still choosing their first tool have other comparisons on this site: Sellerboard alternatives for Shopify covers the Amazon-first tools, Odoo alternatives for Shopify the ERP route, and a page on building your own Shopify profit tracker with AI the do-it-yourself one.
How the comparison was made
Klar's prices, plans, terms and features were read on 21 Oct 2026 from its pricing page, from Klar Analytics on the Shopify App Store, from its homepage and from its help centre's articles on the profitability report and on configuring costs; the other vendors' prices were read the same day from their own pages. Every statement about Klar is one Klar publishes, checkable at its source, and none is a judgement of it: nothing is scored out of ten and no review figure is quoted for anybody. The nouz side reads from the same plan data the checkout charges from, with every feature on every plan and a 14-day trial; what each plan includes is under nouz's pricing.
