Setting up your costs Answer 33 of 46 Updated
Where do EPR rates come from?
From your own scheme contract. EPR means extended producer responsibility: you pay a recycling fee for the packaging you send into a country. You enter the rates per country and per material. nouz keeps no table of rates, because schemes quote privately and change their prices every year.
Open the Logistics page, click Add rule and choose Packaging EPR fees. Under Rate per kilogram, by destination, click Add country for each country you ship to. Countries you already ship to are offered first. Each material is a column, in euros per kg. Copy the numbers from your scheme contract or your last invoice.
An example: paper costs €0,177 per kg in a country, and a parcel carries 200 g of cardboard. The fee on that parcel is about 3,5 cents. nouz keeps such fractions of a cent and rounds only once a day, so nothing gets lost.
Once you have an EPR rule, a country you ship to but have not listed is flagged, never quietly charged zero. A country outside the EU, like Switzerland, can be listed with no rates. That says you owe no EU packaging fee there, and nothing is flagged.
The fee is charged per parcel, on the materials its packaging declares, by the country it goes to. It lands in Logistic Costs on the day of the order. For your scheme's declaration, use the Packaging EPR report in Settings, Data export. It adds up the kilograms per material and country, and the fee they carried.
