Setting up your costs Answer 35 of 46 Updated

What does the Transaction fees page show?

It lists your payment fee rules: what each payment method charges you to take a payment. Open Transaction fees in the sidebar. Their total is Transaction Costs on your P&L, your profit and loss statement. It lowers CM2, which is what you keep after the product, shipping and payment fees.

The columns are Status, Gateway, Rate, Fee on a typical payment and Effective period. Status shows whether a rule is Active, Scheduled or Ended. Gateway is the payment method, with its logo. Rate is the percent plus the fixed fee, like 2,90% + €0,30. Fee on a typical payment is what that rule takes from your average payment, like €2,19 / txn. Txn is short for transaction.

A warning appears when a payment method took money in the last 30 days and no rule prices it. Until one does, its fees count as zero. Click the method's name in the warning to give it a rule. You can close the warning, and it comes back when another unpriced method appears.

If you use Shopify Payments, a grey note says its fees are the real fees Shopify reports on each payment. Your Shopify Payments rule then only counts where Shopify reports none. You will also see a Gift card rule with no fee. nouz adds it for you, because paying with a gift card costs nothing. Fees for disputes are not counted yet.

Click Add fee rule to price a method, or click a row to change its rule.
