How do I add a sale or a launch to the forecast?
Add it as a planned event on the Forecast page: give it a name, a type (sale, launch or campaign) and its dates, and the forecast counts it on those days.
Three numbers describe it. A sale carries a discount, taken off everything sold during it. Extra orders say how many more orders each day brings than an ordinary day. Extra ad budget is what you will spend on it in total, on top of your ad plan. The forecast prices all of it with your own costs, so a sale's lower prices and higher order count meet the product costs, shipping and fees they bring.
The events card shows what each event adds to EBITDA, or takes from it. Switch an event off to see the forecast without it, or delete it. Last year's Black Friday season, found in your own orders when they show one, is listed too and repeats unless you switch it off. What to check before a sale goes in is set out in the Black Friday margin checklist.
Events also move the purchase plan, since a sale sells more units on its days, so the stock you will need for it shows up in time to order it. They are saved per store, and an owner or admin adds them.
