Setting up your costs
How are yearly costs spread?
A yearly cost is charged at the yearly amount divided by 365 for each day it covers, and a monthly one at twelve times the monthly amount divided by 365. A one-off lands on the day it was booked, because that is the day it belongs to.
Spreading is what makes a daily statement readable at all. Without it, the day the insurance bills looks like a disaster and the other twenty-nine days of the month look better than they were.
