How long does setup take?

Connecting Shopify and your ad accounts takes a few minutes. Adding your costs takes longer. How long depends on how many products you sell. Your costs are what make the bottom line right, so they are worth the time. Which costs to set up first tells you where to start.

Some of the work is done before you begin. Every variant with a unit cost in Shopify arrives with that cost. Five starting shipping zones are already set up. Fees on Shopify Payments are read from Shopify itself, so they need no rule.

What is usually left is a short list. You add a cost for the products Shopify had none for. You add a shipping rate card, which is a price list for sending parcels. You add a pick and pack rule if a warehouse packs your orders. You add a fee rule for each payment method other than Shopify Payments. And you list your overhead, like rent and software.

You do not have to do it all at once. Every step is skippable. A missing cost shows on the Overview as missing, never as zero. Each cost you add makes one more line of your P&L real. On Pro and Scale, you can spend a manager call setting it up together.
