Why do numbers look like 1.234,56?

Because nouz writes numbers the way Germany, Austria and most of continental Europe do: a comma before the cents and a point between the thousands. So 1.234,56 is one thousand two hundred and thirty-four, and fifty-six cents, the same amount a British or American report writes as 1,234.56.

Every figure in the app follows the same rules. Money carries your store's currency, so €1.234,56, $1.234,56 or CHF 1.234,56; a loss has a minus sign in front of the currency, −€987,65; percentages keep one decimal after a comma, 19,0%; and a percentage that cannot be calculated, such as a margin on a day with no revenue, shows a dash instead of 0%. Dates are written day first with the month as a word, 1 Oct 2026, and calendars start on Monday.

The format is the same for every store and is not a setting, while the words stay in English. Typing works either way, though. In a money field, where both a comma and a point appear, the last one is the decimal mark, so 1,234.56 and 1.234,56 are the same amount; a point followed by one or two digits is the decimal mark too, so 45.30 is 45,30; and 45300 shows as 45.300 while you type and becomes 45.300,00 when you leave the field.

Files are where the format matters most, so they offer a choice. A CSV export asks for its number format each time: 1.234,56 for a German-language Excel, or 1234.56 for imports and other tools, while Excel and JSON files carry plain numbers the program formats itself; the details are in why the export asks about number format. When you import ad spend from a CSV, nouz reads either style of number, and dates written as 2026-08-01 or 01.08.2026.
