Setting up your costs Answer 37 of 46 Updated

How do I add a payment fee rule?

Open Transaction fees and click Add fee rule. Pick the Payment method, type the Percent and the Fixed per transaction fee, and choose Effective from. Copy the rate from your contract with the provider.

The list puts the methods your store was paid through in the last 30 days first. Each one shows how many payments it took. A method without a rule carries a no rule tag. New methods appear by themselves once a customer pays with one and the next sync runs. Other prices every method that has no rule of its own.

Percent takes up to two decimals, like 2,9 or 2,49. An example: 2,9% plus €0,30 on a €50,00 payment is €1,45 plus €0,30, so €1,75.

The tiles under the form use your real payments. Fee per transaction is the fee on your typical payment, which is your average order with VAT over the last 90 days. Effective rate is that fee as a share of the payment. Monthly cost is what the rule would have cost over the last 30 days. Share of your fees is its part of all your payment fees. A bar below shows what you receive after the fee.

For a method that runs through another provider, Shopify adds its own fee on top. The panel shows that fee for each Shopify plan, so include it in the percent. To compare providers first, try the Shopify fee calculator. Effective to can end the newest rule on a date.
