What does each card on the Overhead tab mean?

The Overhead tab shows your fixed costs: what they are, how they change, and when your sales pay for them. Overhead is the costs that do not grow with each order, like rent, salaries and software. Marketing spend is not in it. Product costs are on the COGS tab, and payment fees on the Transaction fees tab. Open Insights, then the Overhead tab.

Overhead, the first card, is your fixed costs in the date range you picked. A monthly cost is spread over its days: €300,00 a month is about €9,86 a day. A yearly cost is spread the same way, and a one-off cost lands on the day it is booked. The next card, of Net Revenue, is overhead as a share of Net Revenue. Net Revenue is what customers paid you after discounts and refunds, without VAT.

Monthly run-rate is what your running costs add up to per month, as of today. Each yearly cost counts as a twelfth, and one-off costs do not count. Rent of €1.200,00 a month and insurance of €600,00 a year make a run-rate of €1.250,00. The line under it is the run-rate a year ago. Its chip compares the two, and red means your fixed costs grew. The last card, EBITDA, is your profit after all costs, before interest, tax and depreciation. The other chips compare with the same number of days just before. pp means percentage points: 10,0% to 10,5% is +0,5 pp.

Fixed-cost break-even answers one question: on which day of this month do your sales pay for your fixed costs? The green line adds up CM3 day by day. CM3 is what you keep from sales after product costs, shipping, payment fees and marketing. The dashed line is this month's fixed costs. The day the green line crosses it is your break-even day, and every euro of CM3 after it is EBITDA. A green vertical line marks that day. The grey line is last month. This card always shows this month, whatever range you pick.

Under the chart are three figures. Fixed costs is the overhead to cover this month. Break-even is the day you crossed, or what is still to go, like Not yet, €1.200,00 to go. A note under it compares with last month, like 2 days earlier than Sep. Last month is the day last month crossed, or Not reached. Example: your fixed costs this month are €6.000,00, and by 12 October your CM3 adds up to €6.000,00. Break-even then reads 12 Oct.

Run-rate by category is a ring of the costs running today, by category, each turned into a monthly amount. The middle shows the total per month. Daily impact is what these costs take from every day's profit. Yearly is what they add up to over a year. of Net Revenue (30d) is overhead as a share of Net Revenue in your range, here the last 30 days. With the rent and insurance above, Daily impact is €41,09 and Yearly is €15.000,00.

Overhead over time draws one bar per day, week or month, coloured by category. Each bar is the overhead your P&L counted in that time. A one-off cost shows as one tall bar on its day. The dashed line is overhead as a share of Net Revenue.

Upcoming changes lists fixed costs that will start or end later, the soonest first. Starts adds a monthly amount, in red. Ends takes one away, in green. Books is a one-off cost booked for a day still to come. Below, in grey, Last 12 months lists one-off costs you booked and running costs that ended. At the bottom are Run-rate today, Scheduled and Projected run-rate. Scheduled is what the planned starts and ends add or save per month. A run-rate of €4.000,00 with a €150,00 tool starting soon shows +€150,00/mo and a Projected run-rate of €4.150,00/mo.

Largest positions lists your biggest running costs by what each costs per month. Under each name is its category. It also says yearly if you pay it once a year. It says not in last year's stack if the cost started in the last 12 months. The bottom line counts your running costs and their total per month. To add or change a cost, open the Overhead page in the sidebar.
