Why does nouz sync nightly rather than live?

Because numbers that change while you read them are hard to trust. The night sync runs once a day, at your daily sync time. It leaves a finished version of yesterday that holds still until the next sync.

Live numbers would also show half-finished days. Many details of an order arrive after the order itself. Refunds come later. So do shipments, and the fee Shopify reports for a payment. Ad platforms keep correcting their spend for days, which is why every sync reads the last 30 days of spend again.

So nouz reads your orders in syncs, not one by one as they happen. When you want fresher numbers during the day, press Sync now. It fetches everything new from Shopify and your ad accounts right away. The sync badge shows how fresh each source is.

The night sync also checks your daily numbers again. It checks the last 60 days every night, because late refunds, edited orders and corrected ad spend land there. It checks older days in turns, so each one is checked at least once a week.

A change never waits for the night, though. When you change a cost, or a sync brings something new, nouz updates the days it touches right away. The split between new and returning customers is right after every sync too.
