What does Sync now do?
Sync now fetches everything new since the last sync, right away. That means new orders, refunds and products from Shopify, and new spend from your ad accounts. You do not have to wait for the night sync.
The Sync now button sits at the top right of the Overview. Settings, then Integrations, has one too. Only an owner or an admin can run a sync. A teammate with the Analyst role, who can only look, gets the message “Sync not available”. With several stores selected, Sync now syncs every store in the view.
A sync runs in steps. First each connected ad platform, then Shopify. Last, nouz updates your P&L with what came in. Your P&L is the page that adds up your profit. On the Overview, the button counts the steps. With Meta and Google connected there are four, so it reads Syncing 1 of 4, then Syncing 2 of 4, and so on. A thin blue line under the page header fills up as each step finishes.
When all steps are done, the page refreshes once. Every number that changed counts up from its old value to its new one. Then a card opens at the top of the Overview. Its title says since when, such as Since 17:30, and it shows what came in: new orders, net revenue, profit today and marketing.
If a source could not be read, the card says so first, with a button to fix it. For an expired sign-in, that button says Reconnect. If nothing new came in, the card says, for example, Nothing new since 17:30, and closes by itself after a few seconds.
Sometimes it goes differently. If a sync is already running, you see “Sync already running”, and no second sync starts. If Shopify is not connected, Sync now says so. If the first import of your history stopped, Sync now starts it again. If a sync takes longer than two minutes, the card says “Still syncing”. The sync carries on in the background, and the page updates itself when it is done.
In Settings, then Integrations, there is no card. The box at the top says Syncing now and lists each step. Small messages tell you when the sync started and when it finished.
