How do goals work on the Forecast?
A goal says what a month should bring, and the forecast tells you whether it will. You set net revenue and EBITDA as results to reach, and a marketing budget as a ceiling to stay under, for any month ahead.
In the Goals panel you can type a total for the whole period, and nouz spreads it over the months the way your forecast is spread, so the busy months carry more; then change any single month. Goals are rounded to a step that fits your store's size, so a goal typed as the forecast and then rounded never shows a shortfall that is only the rounding.
Each month then shows how far it is ahead of the goal or short of it: green when the forecast reaches it, amber when only the top of its likely range does, and red when neither does, and within half a step it simply reads On goal. A marketing budget shows what is left or how far the plan goes over. The goals appear on this month's card with the gap in words, as a line on the day-by-day chart and as marks on the twelve-month chart.
Goals are saved per store, and an owner or admin sets them. Two alerts read them: one emails you when a month that begins within the next eight weeks will likely miss its EBITDA goal, and one when marketing is forecast to go over budget.
